On arrival at Bagdogra airport / New Jalpaiguri Rly. Today after breakfast proceed for excursion trip to Namchi Chardham Darshan, Guru Padmasambhava statue. Chardham: this unique Pilgrim Centre has a main temple of 108 feet height on which is based the 87 feet high statue of Lord Shiva on the sitting posture at the Solophok Hill. Apart from Shiva statue, this Pilgrim Centre also has replicas of the twelve Jyotirlingas, to offer one platform for Shiva devotees. Solophok Chardham Lord Shiva incarnated as Kirateshwar in Indrakeel (Present Sikkim). Therefore, in this incarnation he is locally worshipped by the people of Sikkim as Lord Kirateshwar. A statue of 16 1/2 feet height of Lord Kirateshwar is also installed in the complex. In order to attain Moksha, the Hindu belief is to perform pilgrimage to all the existing four Dhams. Thereby, replicas of these four Dhams, namely Badrinath, Jaganath and Dwarka dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Rameshwar, dedicated to Lord Shiva is also constructed.
After breakfast departure for Lachung (8610 ft./135km/6 hours) ,it has been described as the ‘most picturesque village of Sikkim’ by Joseph Dalton in his ‘Himalayan Journal’(1855),situated in North Sikkim Lachung is a exquisite valley town resplendent in its crown of snow-capped mountain ,breathtaking waterfalls and sparkling streams. Arrival at Lachung checks in at hotel, overnight halt.
After early breakfast drive up for Yumthang valley (11,800 ft. /24 km / 2 hours) excursion tour. Yumthang, where the tree line ends and the rhododendron groves cover the landscape in a surreal shade. Yumthang also called the valley of flowers as in spring wild alpine flowers carpet the land. Just start to drive up for an unforgettable excursion tour to Gurudongmar Lake (17,200 ft.)-a sacred lake, the waters are believed to possess the miraculous powers of granting issues to barren couples. Back to Gangtok and evening free for M.G Marg. the popular shopping area in Gangtok, overnight stay in Gangtok.
Today proceed for Darjeeling (7,200 ft. / 95 km / 4 hours), The Queen of Hill’s. Arrivals at Darjeeling check in at your hotel. Evening free for walk in the Mall, where you will get curio and handicraft shop Overnight halt.
Early morning get ready for an exciting excursion tour to Tiger Hill (8,500 ft), the famous sunrise point in eastern Himalaya and get the breathtaking view of the changing colour reflection over the Mt. Khnagchendzonga peak and en route back to hotel visit Batasia Loop ,this is a war memorial also visit Ghoom Monastery ,one of the oldest monastery. After breakfast proceed for Himalayan Mountneening Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Tenzing rock, Tibetan refugee self- help centre (closed on Sunday), Happy valley tea garden, Japanese temple & Peace pagoda, back to hotel and evening free to join in a delighted cultural evening at Darjeeling Night angle Park, where the different traditional folk dance present by local people, overnight halt.
